Trying to suceed at what the biggest military budget in the world has failed the past 7 years, Morgan Spurlock potentially opens the door to a world unknown to many. As it opens April 18 (at least in the US), I have not yet seen Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? Nevertheless it seems promising: It starts out as a satirical documentary on the US efforts in its war on terror:
If Morgan Spurlock has learned anything from over 30 years of movie-watching, it’s that if the world needs saving, it’s best done by one lone man willing to face danger head on to take it down, action hero style. So, with no military experience, knowledge or expertise, he sets off to do what the CIA, FBI and countless bounty hunters have failed to do: find the world’s most wanted man.
But geting to know the people in the middle east and what is important to them, something more crucial than catching a rogue terrorist catches his interest.
Spurlock finds they’re not that different from American families, sharing the same hopes and fears for their children that he has for his own.
Let’s hope that the movie can fulfill the expectations it raises.

Das Gesetzen und Verordnung eher ein parteipolitischer Aufgedrückt wird, als das diese durchdacht werden ist zwar gängig, aber besser wirds dadurch nicht. Leider wird dabei all zu oft etwas zu früh mit dem Denken aufgehört, bevorzugt dobald die eigen Sicht abgehandelt ist. Natürlich ist es nicht leicht sich alle möglichen Konsequenzen vorzustellen, aber ein Versuch sich in die Situation betroffener hineinzuversetzen wäre doch manches Mal angebracht. Einen interessanten Beitrag liefert Telepolis mit einem Beitrag zur doppelten Staatsbürgerschaft. Nebenbei wird auch hervorgehoben, wie heute konservative Werte mit nationalistisch angehauchtem Populismus verdrängt werden. Statt sich neue breite Wählerschichten zu erschließen wird die Keule geschwungen. Freunde gewinnt man anders.

Es hat mich ja schon lange gewundert, warum sich niemand um die ganz schlimmen Stoffe kümmert, die u.a. in praktisch allen Lebesmitteln zu finden sind.
Passend dazu gibt es in den USA bereits dehydriertes Wasser zu kaufen. Übrigens dank des niedrigen Gewichtes nahezu CO2 neutral!

Nichts als kalte Luft
Heise Autos lässt die Luft aus den Reifen:
Für reinen Stickstoff (N2) als Füllgas beim Reifenwechsel verlangt der Händler je nach Angebot pro Rad etwa 4 Euro zusätzlich, meist noch nach Radgröße gestaffelt. Doch wie sinnvoll ist dieses Angebot? Schon Kermit aus der Sesamstraße kam ja mit der Idee, ein Tütchen Luft zu verkaufen, ziemlich einfach an ein nettes Zubrot, hat da vielleicht jemand eine Geschäftsidee kopiert?
